Reaching "The Objectives for the Millenium" proposed by United Nations is the greatest challenge of our time. A challenge that concerns all of us. For that reason it is necessary to mobilize as many resources and ideas as possible.
The Granada Conference is the first step of the "Science and Technology for Development" project, designed to produce a Living Exhibition that will itinerate to different Museums and Science Centres, between 2008 and 2012, together with a wide programme of activities. The project tries to inform and educate, making easier the comprenhension of the enormous posibilities of jointing solidarity and knowledge. We want to extend the "technological compromise" in pro of social improvement and sustainability.
We have the conviction that this divulgation will mean a powerful encouragement to society's creativity, cooperation and participation.
In the Conference, as well as the global thinking, some practical cases of technological applications already implanted or that are on the way of being applied in different countries around the world will be presented. These initiatives will be the heart of the Itinerant Exhibition that wants to show real and relevant experiences, and do it in a direct, practical and understandable way.
